The Federal Trade Commission, FTC, recently announced that they were cracking down on scam artists offering short hours,
easy work, and big profits. These home based business scams often prey on the people by promising easy cash just by buying
into their easy program. Some of the business opportunities that had proven to be fraudulent by the FTC included calling cards, refrigerator magnets, envelope stuffing, medical billing and vending machines.
Understand that there are good home based businesses, but you need to be careful and do your research. Spend time and do
research on the business in Google, MSN, or Yahoo, check scam.com or badbusinessbureau.com for feedback and check their
local Better Business Bureau for complaints. If you cannot find any information on them, that is a sure sign to walk away
from this opportunity, here are some more signs.

- No Work Required or Very Little Work
- Unsolicited Contact Via Phone, Email, Direct Mail
- Attend a Seminar that Sells Being Rich
